The Assembly Soup Kitchen (T.A.S.K.)

Volunteer to cook from home and help those in need. The Assembly Soup Kitchen ( T.A.S.K ) started with a handful of volunteers cooking food from their own kitchens - doing what they could with what they had. They are an independent, all-volunteer organisation that serves the homeless and hungry predominantly in the Klang Valley. They have been relying on volunteers, local businesses, and the generosity of the community to help them continue their mission of providing hot, nutritious meals to those in need.

Ways you can volunteer:

Volunteering with them is simple! You don’t have to commit to a regular schedule and you can do so in several ways. 1. Cook - A weekly occasion, and a highlight for many. Volunteers register their interest on Wednesdays, collect cooking ingredients the following Friday afternoon and cook on Saturdays in their own kitchen. Because of these volunteers, they are able to bless their beneficiaries with home-cooked meals every Saturday. All you need is a kitchen and a big heart! They provide all cooking ingredients and containers - just cook what you like with the ingredients provided and send to the collection point nearest to you! It's a easy as that! 2. Bake - They receive baking ingredients as donations and volunteers bring them home to bake in their own time. Baked goods are sent to their HQ to be distributed. 3. Packing - On some days at their HQ volunteers can help with packing, putting together care packs and packed meals before distributing them to beneficiaries. 4. Distribute - Volunteers can help deliver care packs and meals to beneficiaries. They observe COVID-19 precautionary measures during delivery and equip volunteers with PPE.
